"I Remember You" was written by Victor Schertzinger and Johnny Mercer, in 1941. It was part of the soundtrack to the movie "The Fleet's In'.
Mercer, who was infatuated with Judy Garland, wrote it for her, then gave it to her as a wedding present...........even though Mercer was not the groom !
Frank Ifield recorded a country version of I Remember You in 1962. That was number 1 on the UK charts for seven weeks.
The many covers of the song include those by Glen Campbell, Doris Day, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, John Denver, Bette Midler and The Beatles !!
Not to mention this great version by Colleen Spillane ( vocals ) and Chris Komoroswki ( guitar ).
Beautiful work guys !!
Includes a "live from The PBGB Shed" song - with Chris Ralfs on fretless bass and Peter Reid on drums. Some interesting time signatures, RnB and acoustic rock here - plus something a little harder :) PBGB
