"Love Is Here to Stay" was written by brothers George and Ira Gershwin, in 1937.
The song was first performed by Kenny Baker, but didn't become well known until Gene Kelly sang it in the 1951 movie 'An American In Paris'.
It was the last musical composition George Gershwin completed.
One of the all time great jazz standards, Love Is Here To Stay has been covered by hundreds of artists, including Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, and Eric Clapton.
Not a bad line up of covers, but hey, our favourite has to be this one featuring Colleen on Vocals and Chris on Guitar.
What a cracker !!
Beautiful work guys !
Includes a "live from The PBGB Shed" song - with Chris Ralfs on fretless bass and Peter Reid on drums. Some interesting time signatures, RnB and acoustic rock here - plus something a little harder :) PBGB
