MANNY AIGNER'S 'BUT MOSTLY'

Manny's been at it again. Thing is, he's versatile. So, a cuppla weeks back, when just Manny, Mick and Pete were hanging in The Shed, we figured what the hell, no matter, the three of us could probably do something useful.

As it happened, a week before, we had been foolin' about with Manny's 'But Mostly'. We liked it, and thought we'd give it a shot.

What with Manny being able to handle the guitar, bass and vocals, we figured the three of us could put it together layer by layer.

So we turned on the recorder and laid down a scratch take with Manny on rhythm guitar and vocals, Mick on harp, and Pete on drums. Then we added Manny on bass. Then we added Manny on lead. Pete wanted to re-do his drum track, so he did, and that was about that. Top to bottom in less than three hours. Great fun !!

Manny wrote But Mostly inspired by the idea that every situation we find ourselves can be viewed as an opportunity to learn. Manny believes everything is transitory - being rich, being poor, being famous, being healthy, being sick.............it's only the way that we view such life experiences that give them real meaning. He believes it behoves us to learn from everything we go through.

Manny sees negative emotions like blame, jealousy, and vengeance, as wasteful responses to life's experiences. For Manny, such emotions are peripheral.......... they shift our focus away from what are really opportunities to grow into a better person.

As Manny sings..................."But mostly you've got nothin' honey, if you don't learn from it all "

It's a great song thanks Manny and we are very pleased to add it to the PBGB oeuvre. More of those please sir !!

We sent it up to Neil who did a great job of tying it all together.

Have a listen.
