about
After many hours both in and out of seshes, lots of pondering over what might and mightn't work, and 58 separate recorded tracks (33 were used in the end), I'm pretty pleased (and a tad relieved) that Kilimanjaro/Kalahari is now officially finished. I have done at least 20 different Logic Projects (shortened this, sped up that, replayed bits, dumped bits, dumped replayed bits, tried bits out etc).
You'll quickly hear why the final version in my Logic Project is called "KALAHARI XHOSI MIX".
The separate instruments include a lot of percussion tracks, drums, a lot of guitar tracks, bass, Frhodo, 3 separate didges, a bouzouki, a kalimba, B3 hammond (2 tracks), a brief word from an actual Xhosa speaker (I think he said something like "grab a coldie from the fridge - make mine a Tooheys, and say hi to Graham for me") and of course Graham's sax.
I reckon it's come up pretty well, and I'm pretty pleased with ourselves.
Cheers - and enkosi ngokuhlala apho!
